VOLUNTEER IN SPORT AND CULTURAL OPPORTUNITIES IN SUFFOLK

Suffolk County Council, The Suffolk Strategic Partnership, Suffolk Sport and Suffolk Volunteering Federation have joined forces to promote volunteering opportunities in Sport and Culture throughout Suffolk.

The ‘Embrace Life’ campaign provides a unique opportunity to people to explore exciting opportunities available when volunteering in sport and recreation, countryside activities, museums, libraries, archives, theatre, arts and crafts and music.

Councillor Graham Newman, who is portfolio holder for Adult and Community services, added; ‘The launch of the Embrace Life campaign provides an excellent opportunity to recognise the contribution and value of volunteers in Suffolk and the vast array of volunteering experiences available within Sport and Culture in Suffolk.

Volunteering in these sectors not only helps local community activity, but can be a real benefit for the volunteer themselves – developing new skills and opening potential doors to a new career.’

Internet access is available in all libraries throughout Suffolk helping open up the opportunities on the Do-It Org site to more people.

The ‘Embrace Life’ campaign will continue to run throughout the summer ensuring more people discover their potential through volunteering in Suffolk.
