Message from Jonathan Moore, Chief Executive of SAVO:

On 31st May 2010, our very good friend and colleague Gill Robinson passed away in her sleep at St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, having battled over the last few weeks with cancer.

As Suffolk Volunteering Federation’s Manager, Gill has been a major force in Suffolk’s voluntary sector – her work, passion and commitment epitomising the best that our sector has to offer. Many people have already remarked on the great vigour, enthusiasm and knowledge Gill put into championing volunteering and – more significantly – the friendship and support she gave unstintingly to those she worked with. She will be greatly missed.

Our sympathy is with her Son and Daughter, Tim and Caroline, and we pass on the message that anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Gill, should make it to St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.

Gill’s vision and passion provide a legacy that will continue to drive SAVO’s work and support for volunteering in Suffolk into the future.
